Using up remnants

How about a bonus post?  This weekend I whipped up this shirt and shorts with one yard remnants that I had on hand.  I LOVE finding patterns that can use up extra fabric.

Recognize the fabric for the top?  It’s the extras from this dress.

It’s amazing how differently the fabric looks isn’t it?  I was meticulous about how I cut out the dress for color placement.  It’s fun to see it made up into something totally different.

Here are the other projects that I’ve made so far that are great for using up one yard remnants.

I'm a mom to five, a wife to one and love sewing. I learned when I was a little girl but returned to it in full force in the last couple of years. The process of creating things keeps me sane. I set a lofty goal for myself, one project a week for a year. I did it and I'm doing it again! I'm amazed at how much I've learned and improved. Set a goal to learn something new and devote weekly time to it. You will be amazed at the results.

  2. I’m always trying to use leftovers. Usually, I make pouches or fabric keychain. I’m gonna buy that poncho top. I overlooked it before but your fabric choice made me want it. Thanks
