Marcia Spencer (Instagram: Keechiibstyle) recently released her first indie pattern and I had the privilege of being a tester for her. The pattern is called the Sia Dress and can be purchased here:https://www.keechiibstyle.com
I used a Minerva fabric for my first version of the dress, I won’t say much about the fabric because you can read all about that sewing experience here: https://www.minerva.com/posts/1196445 Minerva gifted me the fabric in exchange for pictures and a blog post.
The pattern was so much fun to sew, I checked both faux leather and boning off of my sewing bucket list. I’ve been putting off trying both for so long, I’ve been dreading it. It turns out that both were so much easier than I thought they would be.

I can’t believe how well it turned out. I loved the process so much I immediately made a second one. But before we look at that one, here she is. The Sia Dress.

I wanted to try it again and bought this beautiful teal floral stretch denim from Joann Fabrics. This pattern calls for woven, zero stretch fabrics, so I interfaced the entire bodice to counteract the stretch. I did the shorter version this time around and it creates an entirely different feel.

It’s such a fun summer look. She’s already started adding hacking ideas to this pattern on her instagram grid so go check her out.
