Back at it, week one M8117

Welcome back, it’s been a minute again. I’ve been busy doing so many huge projects around the house. I started creating custom built ins and painting cabinetry. All fun changes, but I miss my sewing room. Actually one of the huge projects WAS in my sewing room. I guess I should post those photos here too. I’ll share those soon.

This weeks’ project was a quick and easy sew to get me back into it. McCalls m8117 is a pattern I picked up at a thrift store for a dollar. It can be a cropped top and I love high waisted pants so it was an easy dollar to spend to see if I liked the pattern and style. Great news, easy sew, perfect fit.

I made view C in size 14, that’s a normal choice for me. I did add 1 1/2 inches of length in the sleeve and that was the right decision. This will be a pattern I make again, loved it. I wish I wasn’t so big busted, I would try the off the shoulder version if I was but I just loath strapless bras and I can not go with out a bra so I’m guessing I’ll only ever make this view.

Until next week, happy sewing.
