The Capsule Continues

McCalls pattern M8118 was a fast easy project. It’s a similar pattern to another make I made a while ago but I prefer this pattern. This one seems a bit more high waisted which I think is key. I did let out the crotch seam about a 1/2 inch, that was my only alteration.

Until recently I never ever had oranges and yellows in my wardrobe and honestly they probably aren’t “my color”, but I’m so drawn to them recently and I’m loving the vibrancy that they are adding to my closet.

I borrowed the waist tie pattern from M7726 this pattern and I preferred it to the belt that was part of the pattern.

Here is the other pattern I felt was similar but didn’t love the fit as much as this one.

The blue green linen pants were made with Simplicity s8605. I love them on an Instagram maker that I follow but she’s considerably shorter than me and I think that this McCall’s pattern with it’s higher waist is probably more ideal for taller people. Unfortunately, the pattern isn’t a full length pant but I’ll just adjust them so that they can be pants as well. I’m planning on making more as pants and may even try them as the shorter shorts version.

Which pattern do you like better?
