I made Simplicity 8593 for a 3rd time :)

Who doesn’t love vintage clothes?  The construction is interesting and different.  The styles can be timeless.  I bought this pattern based on View D but had only made view A.  The view A takes only one yard so I’ve used some rem fabrics to sew it up.  I love collecting one yard projects.  It’s good to keep your eye on how to creatively and functionally use up scraps.

I finally decided to make up view D.

For fun here are the other two shirts I made from this pattern . . .

I did adjust the plunge of that shirt.  It was WAY lower.  Here is that blog post if you are interested in reading that. https://sewsanityblog.com/2018/02/25/week-21-girls-night-out-shirt/

I made view D as instructed but added two inches to the length of the ruffle.

I'm a mom to five, a wife to one and love sewing. I learned when I was a little girl but returned to it in full force in the last couple of years. The process of creating things keeps me sane. I set a lofty goal for myself, one project a week for a year. I did it and I'm doing it again! I'm amazed at how much I've learned and improved. Set a goal to learn something new and devote weekly time to it. You will be amazed at the results.

  1. You look beautiful in this top! The color makes your eyes pop! Good for you for trying new things! We all need to stretch our wings from time to time! No matter what else is going on…your sewing is stellar!
